The diocese contracted with Catholic Leadership Institute (CLI) to create a Vision Statement, a Purpose Statement, list of values, priorities and goals to guide the parish for the next 3 years. This past year, the parish council and members of the staff worked at preparing the information. We sent it to the bishop for approval, which we received. The following is what we prepared. Please review it and feel free to contact Fr. Daniel with any feedback. -
Vision Statement
We will become one community celebrating the Eucharist in diverse expressions of faith who are all formed by the one Gospel of Christ and inspired by the Holy Spirit to live out the will of the Father within our Catholic tradition.

We are a Catholic community called by the Prince of Peace and led by the Holy Spirit, committed to sharing God’s Word, celebrating the sacraments, and living our faith.

- Develop on ongoing formation process for liturgical ministers by 6/30/22
1. More training for all ministries in the liturgy.
2. Hire a pastoral coordinator.
3. Day and evenings of recollection for each ministry.
- Encourage greater participation in the Liturgy (Mass, Liturgy of the Hours, and Eucharistic Adoration) by 6/30/23.
2. Education on the Mass, including teaching Masses.
3. Teaching and efforts to live the Liturgical Seasons.
4. Coordinated Silences in the Liturgy.
- Establish the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul as a center of evangelization, culture and pilgrimage by 6/30/24

- Restructure baptismal preparation program to include young families and prolong our commitment to families of the newly baptized by 6/30/22.
- Provide quarterly assembled and non-assembled formation events for adults by 6/30/23
- Restructure our youth Faith Formation program to meet the needs of the contemporary Church by 6/20/24

- Bring greater awareness of outreach programs in the Catholic community so as to promote opportunities to serve by 6/30/22
- Be a more visible Catholic presence in the works of mercy done by groups outside the parish by 6/30/23.
- Develop a greater partnership with Catholic Charities Maine in providing social ministry for the area by 6/30/24
