Prince of Peace Parish

Dear Adorers and Guardians of the Blessed Sacrament, 

First I want to thank you for all that you do to maintain a level of prayer in our parish.  Moreover, you allow people to stop by and spend some time with the Lord in prayer.  I know that many Adorers go to Adoration to pray for their families and loved ones, but know that your kindness and dedication to your hours of prayer allow others to come and pray to God for their needs as well.  That is an invaluable and necessary ministry in our parish and one that must continue as we deal with the property issues of our parish. 

    There is no question that we have a beautiful chapel.  You just have to walk in and immediately you feel Christ’s presence in the Blessed Sacrament and the deep prayer of the people kneeling before Him.   However, there are a few challenges we face with the chapel as it is.  Handicapped accessibility, parking, security and restrooms are only a few of these difficulties.  Now with the plan to stop the one Mass celebrated at Holy Cross Church by June 30, 2025, we have been working on a new space at Holy Family. Our new chapel will address the concerns of handicapped accessibility, parking, security and restrooms.  Moreover, it will be in the heart of the activity of the parish giving me great hope that it takes on an even bigger presence in our parish ministries.  If this happens, the priests of the rectory will also have direct access to the chapel making their presence and mine more available.    

    However, like everything else, it will cost us.  The first phase of preparing the basement of Holy Family Rectory will cost $68,250.00, which includes removing the asbestos, dropping the door to remove stairs and constructing the chapel.  It is all being done under the direction of Rioux Construction.

    I know that expenses continue to rise but The Prince of Peace Adoration Chapel is a must for the spiritual health of our parish. Please consider making your donation.  The future plans include a narthex for signing in and gathering before entering the chapel.  Consider helping us make our space a beautiful and prayerful place for people to pray.
