Thursday, November 24, 2011, 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Come join The Root Cellar as they serve and enjoy Thanksgiving lunch with our neighbors in downtown Lewiston. Lunch will be served from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm, and will be a great opportunity for you, your family, and friends to connect with our neighbors, enjoy some amazing food, and get a glimpse into the lives of people who live in the L/A community with some very unique stories. The lunch menu will include turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, rolls and butter, drinks, and of course, pies.
Time and Food Donations Needed
Last Thanksgiving, The Root Cellar was able to provide 275 meals for our neighbors. This year they hope to be able to provide 400 meals, and this will be easier with your help and participation. For this outreach, the most important part is connecting with our neighbors, and you could be the person that touches the life of someone just at the right time.
Food Donations:
-
Up through November 23: canned corn, canned cranberry sauce, boxed stuffing
-
November 21-23: potatoes, butter, milk

Service Opportunities - Thanksgiving Day:

-

Preparations at The Root Cellar, and, as you can imagine, there will be many things to do. "Many hands make light work" - it should be done by 2:30 pm or so after clean-up. Be part of a great event and get to know people that live in your community, just maybe not in your area. Let's serve Christ by serving others.
