On October 5, we will be featuring a Mark Thallander Festival honoring the 10th anniversary of SS Peter and Paul’s elevation to minor basilica.
The New England Festival of Thanksgiving celebrates the 10th anniversary of Basilica status of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Presented in conjunction with the Mark Thallander Foundation, come enjoy an evening of inspiration as more than 100 voices of the Festival adult choir, including the Basilica’s adult, handbell, and children’s choirs sing inspirational music.
Faith and music have always been central to Mark Thallander’s life. An accomplished organist, composer and author, he is probably best known for his long and distinguished ministry at The Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. He joined the staff there in January 1976 as a music associate and assisted Dr. and Mrs. Robert H. Schuller with Hour of Power television scripting, service programming and musical guests.
A devastating auto accident in 2003 was a turning point in his career. Not one to be deterred and with God’s guidance, Mark stepped up to the challenges presented and today continues to perform organ concerts around the country. Mark also serves as president of The Mark Thallander Foundation, an organization founded in 2005 to bring joyous and inspirational music events to communities nationwide.
