September 15, 2023“SING A JOYFUL SONG” ~ ONE DAY RETREAT
St Augustine is accredited with saying “he who sings prays twice.” The holy Bishop of Hippo meant that singing adds to our praise and worship of God—that our voices are gifts, with which we can make music to the Lord. Sung prayer expresses the joy of the heart, the happiness resulting from one who has encountered Jesus Christ and experienced his love.
Join fellow parishioners in a faith filled day with plenty of opportunities for prayer through song. There will be speakers who will share their witnesses to the many ways that the music of our faith has been instrumental in their faith journeys. Each speaker will share a song that we can all pray together. We pray that you will be inspired to share songs of our faith, that can be prayed together, that speak to your soul as well.
The day will conclude in Adoration prior to the start of the 4:00 PM Mass celebrated by our favorite singing priest, Fr Bob Vaillancourt.
