You may light a candle and open a Bible. If possible you may start with a song. Together pray the opening prayer for Mass.
Opening Prayer for Mass for the Fifth Sunday of Lent found in the Roman Missal.
By your help, we beseech you, Lord our God, may we walk eagerly in that same charity with which, out of love for the world, your Son handed himself over to death. Through our Lord Jesus christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. AMEN
2. Read the Gospel for Sunday Mass Gospel: John 8:1-11
Each person should have a Bible to follow along with the readings. The readings can also be found on the USCCB website at https://bible.usccb.org/readings/calendar.
3. Pause for quiet reflection. 4. Share words or phrases that struck you and why. 5. Questions for discussion for all to share.
The scribes and the Pharisees brought the women caught in adultery to Jesus. Have you ever tested Jesus?
Why is mercy shown in this Gospel a higher value than condemnation?
Jesus says that he does not condemn but also tells the woman that "from now on do not sin any more." How does that challenge you in how you should interact with God and other people?
6. Watch the parish video.
You may water the YouTube video on the parish website at https://princeofpeace.me/small-faith-sharing groups or the parish YouTube channel on your Smart TV, smart phone, or computer.
7. Offer Intercessory Prayers for various needs closing with the "Our Father"
