We are never too old to grow in our faith!
Each and every baptized Catholic is called to continue to mature in our faith and relationship with the Holy Trinity throughout our entire lifetime.
“Life-Long” has become the new buzzword in Catholic religious education.
Our Catholic Church has a vocabulary all her own, words that you really do not hear often outside the walls of the Church. One of those words that is often used when we speak of Faith Formation is - Catechesis. Catechesis comes from a Greek word meaning "to echo". In other words, catechesis is the process in which the Word of God re-sounds (echoes) between the teacher and the student! It’s a dynamic process in which Jesus (the Word of God), the catechist (teacher/proclaimer), the disciple (student) and the Holy Spirit all come together to light a fire in our hearts and keep the fire burning.
Catechesis has one primary goal; to lead all God's people to an ever deepening relationship with God who reveals himself in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
